George Douglas Architects are a family practice specialising mainly in domestic and residential projects for all types of clients from individual customers with one off requirements for house extensions to new build houses and housing schemes for private and publically funded developers.
The practice was established in 1995 by George Douglas and has operated from purpose built design studio premises in the historic centre of Old Aberdeen since 2005.
George Douglas designed and developed the new office on the site of a former historic Georgian house which was demolished in the 1950s.
The new office is located within a grade B listed building setting.
Part of the original house wall still remains in place and this was incorporated into the new studios contemporary design which at the same time respect the traditional feel of the historic surroundings.
The practice is a member of RIAS (Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, and carries full professional indemnity insurance to the amounts required by ARB.
George Douglas has been registered as a Chartered Architect since 1992.
All staff members are fully experienced with AUTOCAD design and all drawings produced are computer generated for efficiency, quality and accuracy.
The practice has won several awards over the years including two Aberdeen Civic Society Awards and two Ferryhill Heritage Society Awards
The practice is predominantly design led and takes great pride in producing contemporary design solutions for all types of clients changing needs.
